Built in 1981, by Lake Arthur Shipyard Incorporated of Lake Arthur, Louisiana (hull #3) as the Renee Louise for the Triangle Shifting and Fleeting Service Incorporated of Bridge City, Texas.

In 1987, the tug was acquired by the Guidry Brothers Company of Galliano, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

In 1993, she was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Orion.

Powered by two, Mitsubishi S6A3MPTA diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.5:1. She is a twin screw, towboat, rated at 960 horsepower.
