Built in 1966, by Main Iron Works of Houma, Louisiana (hull #180) as the Dixie Vengeance for Dixie Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1998, she was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA38-M0 diesel engines. She is a square bow, twin screw, push boat. Rated at 1,700 horsepower.
