Built in 1976, by the Pacific Towboat and Salvage Company of Long Beach, California as the Pacific Viking Pacific Towboat and Salvage Company of Long Beach, California

Pacific Towboat and Salvage operated as a component of the Dillingham Corporation of Seattle, Washington. As part of a restructuring in 1986, along with all other Dillingham maritime transportation operations, the company was placed under the Foss Maritime umbrella.

In 1987, Foss Maritime and its subsidiaries were acquired by Saltchuk Resources Incorporated of Seattle, Washington.

The tug was later transferred to the fleet of the Foss Marine Holdings Company of Seattle, Washington. Where she retained her name.

She was later transferred to Foss Maritime's independently operated subsidiary, the Young Brother Company Incorporated of Honolulu, Hawaii. Where the tug was renamed as the Mikiona.

She is a twin screw tug rated at 2,850 horsepower.
