Built in 1967, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #178) as the Harbor Island.

In 1994, the tug was acquired by the Bay Transportation Company of Tampa, Florida. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2002, she was acquired by Block One Marine Incorporated of Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Jean-Pierre.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by the Norfolk Tug Company of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Miss Gill.

In 2006, she was acquired by Matthews Brothers Incorporated of Pass Christian, Mississippi. The parent company of True North Marine Incorporated of Pass Christian, Mississippi. Where she was renamed as the Miss Nicole.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3412E diesel engines. With Twin Disc 5225 reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.0:1. Turning two, 60(in) by 56(in), four bladed, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by one, 70kW, Caterpillar 3304 generator set. And one, 40kW Kubota V2200T generator set. The tug's capacities are 7,500 gallons of fuel, and 2,500 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of a single drum, hydraulic, anchor handling winch. And two, Nabrico winches, mounted on the bow.
