Built in 1975, by Steiner Shipyard Incorporated Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #3) as the Bill James for T.L. James and Company of Ruston, Louisiana.

In 1980, T.L. James and Company renamed the tug was the Evelyn James.

In 2008, the tug was acquired by Weeks Marine Incorporated of Cranford, New Jersey. Where she was renamed as the Charlie G.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3508 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG-540 reduction gears, at a ratio of 7.00:1. Turning two, 72(in) by 62(in), four bladed, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,800 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW, 3300T generator sets. Powered by two, Kubota KK4 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 1,760 gallons of fuel, 330 gallons of lube oil, and 8,400 gallons of water.
