Built in 1971 by the Marine Construction and Design Company (MARCO) of Seattle, Washington as the Edith Lovejoy (hull #222) for Puget Sound Freight Lines Incorporated of Seattle, Washington.

In 2000, the tug was transferred to the Canadian flag, where she was renamed as the Hunter.

In 2011, she was acquired by Tidal Coastal Towing Limited port Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Where the tug was renamed as the Rose MacKenzie.
