WILLAMETTE PILOT III

Built in 1978 by Service Machine Industries at Amelia, Louisiana as the Willamette Pilot III for the Willamette Tug and Barge Company of Portland, Oregon.

On March 2, 1985, while attempting to take a barge adrift in a storm under control, the tug suddenly sank 50 miles west of Point Arena, California, with the loss of all 6 crew members. She was not salvaged.
