Built in 1998, by Moss Point Marine of Lockport, Louisiana (hull #134) as the Julie for Penn Maritime Incorporated of Stamford, Connecticut.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, EMD 16-645F7 diesel engines. Turning two, cast steel, fixed pitch propellers. For a rated 7,010 horsepower.

Outfitted with an INTERcon coupler system. The Julie is "married" with the 442(ft), by 72(ft) by 36(ft), double hulled, 115,000(bbl) barge, the Yucatan. That was constructed simultaneously in 1998. By by Gulf Coast Fabricators of Pearlington, Mississippi for Penn Maritime Incorporated.

In 2012, Penn Maritime Incorporated was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2021, the tug was acquired by Odegard Investments Limited of Callao, Peru. Where she was renamed as the Porto.
