Built in 1975, by the Louis G. Ortis Boat Company Incorporated of Krotz Springs, Louisiana as the Davy Lyle for the Davy Lyle Towing Company of Marrero, Louisiana.

In 1997, the tug was acquired by the Trans Texas Gas Corporation of Houston, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Mr. Jacob.

In 1998, she was acquired by Double Eagle Marine Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Forest Eagle.

In 2002, the tug was acquired by the Delta Towing Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Delta Mallard.

In 2011, she was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana where the tug retained her name.

In 2021, the tug was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Houma, Louisiana.

Powered by two, GM V12-71 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG 514-A reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. Turning two, 60(in) by 44(in) by 5(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She was a twin screw towboat, rated at 900 horsepower.

Her electrical service was provided by three, 32kW generator sets. Driven by two, GM2-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities were of 9,500 gallons of fuel oil, 5,000 gallons of water, and 100 gallons of lube oil.
