Built in 1958, by Odom Johnson Towing Company of Empire, Louisiana as the Amy M. for the Odom Johnson Towing Company of Empire, Louisiana.
In 1995, the tug was acquired by Back River Towing Incorporated of Chesapeake, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Robert P. Jr.
She was later sold. Where the tug was renamed as the Bay Star.
The tug was eventually acquired by the Norfolk Tug and Barge Company of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Carolina.
In 2001, the tug was acquired by Intracoastal Marine Incorporated of Chesapeake, Virginia. Where she retained her name.
In 2018, she was phased out of active service. Her current, and or final disposition is unknown. She was a twin screw towboat, rated at 800 horsepower.
