Built in 1980 by the Sanyo Shipbuilding Company Limited at Onomichi, Japan as the Ryuko Maru (hull #808).

In 1993, the tug was sold and renamed as Sioux.

In 2002, she was acquired by the Malayan Towage and Salvage Company of Makati, Philippines. Where the tug was renamed as the Trabajador.

In 2009, the tug was acquired by the Cabras Marine Corporation of Piti, Guam. Where she was renamed as the Talofofo.
