Built in 1965, by Brown and Root Incorporated of Houston, Texas (hull #260) as the R.M. Davis for Brown and Root Incorporated of Houston, Texas.
In 1989, the tug was acquired by Henry Marine Services Incorporated of Staten Island, New York. Where she was renamed as the Rachel Marie.
Named for Rachel Marie Henry, daughter of Julian Dorothy and Bob Henry. The founders of Henry Marine Service Incorporated.
In 1997, she was acquired by Island Towing and Salvage Incorporated of Staten Island, New York. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2020, the tug was phased out of active service, and was "laid up" at Staten Island, New York.
She was a single screw tug, rated at 400 horsepower.
