Built in 1966, by Allied Shipyard Incorporated of LaRose, Louisiana (hull #113) as the Dad II for the Doucet and Adams Company Incorporated of Galliano, Louisiana.

In 1997, the tug was sold. Where she was renamed as the Bunker Tide.

She was later acquired by the by the BayGulf Trading Corporation of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Jenna B.

In 2006, the BayGulf Trading Corporation was acquired by K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Where she was renamed as the Banda Sea.

In 2007, the tug was acquired by the DonJon Marine Company of Hillside, New Jersey. Where she was renamed as the Brian Nicholas.

Rebuilt in 1997, at Fells Point in Baltimore, Maryland. She was re powered with two, Detroit Diesel 12-149 diesel engines for a rated 1,350 horsepower. In 2010, the tug was re powered with two, Tier II compliant Cummins K38-M diesel engines. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,700 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW Onan generator sets. The tug's capacities are 20,000 gallons of fuel.

The towing equipment consists of a single drum, towing winch. Outfitted with 1,800(ft) of 1.5(in) of towing wire. Driven by a single, dedicated Detroit Diesel DD 3-71 diesel engine.
