Built in 1981, by Turn Ship Limited of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #17) as the Kurt Crosby for the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana.

In 1986, the tug was acquired by Crain Brothers Incorporated of Grand Chenier, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Uncle Ned II.

In 2006, she was acquired by Miller's Tug and Launch Incorporated of Staten Island, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Susan Miller.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,500 horsepower.
