Built in 1992, by Empire Harbor Marine, Incorporated of Thomson, New York as the Herbert P. Brake for Empire Harbor Marine Incorporated of Thomson, New York.

Empire Harbor Marine, later became Port Albany Ventures where the tug retained her name.

In 2009, Port Albany Ventures was acquired by DonJon Marine of Hillside, New Jersey. Where the tug retained her name.

She is a twin screw modified bow pushboat powered by two Cummins VT 1710 diesel main engines, she is rated at 375 horsepower.

In 2014, the tug was renamed as the Rebecca Ann.
