Built in 1980, by Terrebonne Shipbuilders Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #20) as the Mr. Wilfred for Hilton Towing Incorporated of Marrero, Louisiana.

In 1990, the tug was acquired by the Coastal Tug and Barge Company of Miami, Florida. Where she was renamed as the Coastal Fort Myers.

In 2004, she was acquired by the Beyel Brothers Company of Cocoa Beach, Florida. Where the she was renamed as the Daniel P. Beyel.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,600 horsepower.
