Built in 1981, by the Service Machine Group Incorporated of Amelia, Louisiana (hull #138) as the Miss Natalie.

In 1996, the tug was acquired by Century Marine Incorporated of Middle Village, New York. Where she was renamed as the Dakota.

In 2001, she was acquired by the Gellatly and Criscione Services Corporation of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Flossie Gellatly.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by the Norfolk Tug Company of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Robert Burton.

Powered by two, Tier II compliant, Caterpillar 3508C diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG540 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. Turning two, 66(in) by 81(in), five bladed, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,800 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 60kW, John Deere generator sets. The tug's capacities are 18,500 gallons of fuel, 400 gallons of lube oil, and 8,000 gallons of water.
