Built in 1997, by Marco Shipyard Seattle of Seattle, Washington (hull #477) as the Delta Linda for Bay and Delta Maritime Services Incorporated of San Francisco, California.

In 1998, the tug was leased to the SeaRiver Maritime Company of Houston, Texas. Where she was renamed as the S/R Mare Island.

In 1999, the Exxon Oil Company merged with the Mobil Oil Corporation to form the ExxonMobil Corporation of Irving, Texas. The SeaRiver Maritime Company continued to operate as a subsidy of the ExxonMobil Corporation. And, the tug retained her name.

In 2007, she was acquired by Crowley Marine Services Incorporated of San Francisco, California. Where the tug was renamed as the Goliah.

In 2019, the tug was acquired by the Harbor Docking and Towing Company of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Sam.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3516B diesel engines. With Ulstein 1650H z drives, at a 6.42:1 reduction. Outfitted with two, 94.5(in), four bladed Ni-Al bronze propellers. She is a twin screw tractor tug, rated at 4,400 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 105kW generator sets. Driven by two, Caterpillar 3304 BT diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 91,000 gallons of fuel, 7,000 gallons of water, 1,200 gallons of lube oil, and 450 gallons of hydraulic oil.

The towing gear consists of a Burrard, double drum, towing winch. Outfitted with 2,200(ft) of 2.25(in) and 900(ft) of 2(in) towing wire on each drum, mounted on her stern. And, a Burrard bow winch, outfitted with 600(ft) of 9(in) hawser, mounted on her bow.
