Built in 1981, by Terrebonne Shipbuilders Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #24) as the Miss Patricia for Smith Marine Towing Company of Morgan City, Louisiana.

In 2006, the tug was acquired by Odyssea Vessels Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

In 2008, she was acquired by Dawn Offshore Services Incorporated of Gretna, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Coastal Dawn.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3412 diesel engines. With Twin Disc 520 reduction gears, at a ratio of 5:1. Turning two, 60(in) by 59(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,400 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 30kW. The tugs capacities are 20,000 gallons of fuel, 450 gallons of lube oil, and 5,000 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consists of a single drum, Smatco 44-DPS towing winch. Outfitted with 1,500(ft) of 1.75(in) towing wire.
