Built in 1977, by Thrift Shipbuilding and Repair Incorporated Sulphur, Louisiana (hull #9) as the Miss Jodie for the Parker Towing Company Incorporated of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

In 2015, the tug was acquired by the Stephens Maritime Corporation of Bay Minette, Alabama. Where the tug was renamed as the Miss Detsy.

Powered by two, GM 16V-71 diesel engines. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
