CROSBY DUKE

Built in 1979, by Modern Marine Power Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #12) as the L.A. Orgeron for Orgeron Brothers Marine Incorporated of Lockport, Louisiana.

In 2009, the tug was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Crosby Duke.

In 2020, she was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Houma, Louisiana.

Rebuilt in 1999, she was powered by two, Caterpillar 3516 DITA SCAC B HD diesel engines. Turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She was a twin screw tug, rated at 4,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service was provided by two, 75kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 90,000 gallons of fuel oil, and 1,400 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consisted of a double drum, Markey TDSD 34, towing winch. Outfitted with 2,400(ft) of 2.25(in) towing wire on the primary drum, and 2,000(ft) of 2(in) wire on the secondary drum. Driven by a dedicated GM 6-71 diesel engine.
