Built in 1978, by Modern Marine Power, Inc. of Houma, Louisiana (hull #22) as the Tybee for the Atlantic Towing Company of Savannah, Georgia.

In 1995, Atlantic Towing was acquired by the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation of New York, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Greg Turecamo.

In 1998, Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation was acquired by the Moran Towing Corporation of New York, New York. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, EMD 16-645C diesel engines. Turning two, bronze, fixed pitch, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,900 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 60kW, Delco I-581 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 73,968 gallons of fuel.
