CAPE ROMAIN

Built in 1979, by McDermott Shipyard of Morgan City, Louisiana (hull #252) as the Cape Romain for the Curtis Bay Towing Company of Baltimore, Maryland. An affiliate of the Moran Towing Corporation of New York, New York.

In 1988, the Curtis Bay Towing Company was absorbed into the Moran Towing Corporation. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, twelve cylinder, EMD diesel engines. Turning two, cast steel, fixed pitch, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two 75kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 70,533 gallons of fuel.
