Built in 1981, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #373) as the Roseanna Doucet for the Doucet and Adams Company Incorporated of Galliano, Louisiana.

In 1999, the tug was acquired by Double Eagle Marine Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Channel Eagle.

In 2001, she was acquired by the Delta Towing Company Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Delta Tide.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by Greater New York Marine Transportation Incorporated of Syossett, New York. Where she was renamed as the Port Chester.

In 2015, she was acquired by the Smith Marine Towing Corporation of Morgan City, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Smith Hunter.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3508 B diesel engines. With Twin Disc 540 reduction gears, at a ratio of 4:1. Turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,200 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW generator sets. Driven by two, Detroit Diesel 4-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 31,000 gallons of fuel, 770 gallons of lube oil, and 4,200 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of a Smatco DAW 46 towing winch. Outfitted with 2000(ft) of 1.5(in) towing wire.
