Built in 1901, by T. S. Marvel Shipbuilding of Newburgh, New York (hull #136) as the New York Central No. 11 for the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad Company of New York, New York.
The tug was later acquired by the P.F. Martin Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Where she was renamed as the Coral.
In 1948, the P.F. Martin Company was acquired by the McAllister Brothers Towing Company of New York, New York. Where the tug retained her name
In 1958, she was sold. Where she was renamed as the Japan. However, the tug is no longer in documentation. Her current and or final disposition is unknown. She was single screw, rated at 225 horsepower.
