Built in 1926, by Vinyard Shipbuilding of Milford, Delaware as the Courageous for Merritt-Chapman and Scott Corporation of New York, New York.

In 1947, the tug was acquired by the McAllister Brothers Towing Company of New York, New York. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1954, the tug foundered and was lost. She was a single screw tug, rated at 380 horsepower.
