Built in 1959, by the John H. Mathis Company Incorporated of Camden, New Jersey (hull #215) as the Senator Robert F. Wagner for the New York City Fire Department Marine Division of New York, New York.

In 1995, the vessel was acquired by the Crescent Towing and Salvage Company Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she was converted for use as a towing vessel. And, renamed as the Georgia.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,200 horsepower.
