Built in 1982, by Rayco Shipbuilders and Repair Incorporated of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #89) as the Bengal Duke for Waterways Towing Incorporated of Raceland, Louisiana.

In 1989, the tug was acquired by Evelyn Berman of Berman Towing Enterprises Incorporated of Staten Island, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Quenames.

In 1994, the tug was acquired by Boston Marine Transportation of East Boston, Massachusetts. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, Detroit Diesel 16V149 diesel engines. With Twin Disc Model MG-540 redacting gears, at a ratio of 7:1. Turning two, 78(in) by 76(in), four bladed, fixed pitch, stainless steel propellers fitted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW generator sets, driven by two, Detroit Diesel 4-71 diesel engines.

The towing equipment consists of a Smatco, Discovery Series 46/34-DAW-100, double drum, waterfall style towing winch. Outfitted with 1,000(ft) of 1.5(in) towing wire on the primary drum and soft line on the secondary drum.
