Built in 1978, by McDermott Shipyard Incorporated of Morgan City, Louisiana (hull #240) as the Robin XIV for the Robin International Towing Company of Harvey, Louisiana.
In 1985, the tug was acquired by Sea Containers Incorporated of Hamilton, Bermuda. Where she was renamed as the Seaco Intrepid.
In 1988, she was acquired by the Bay Transportation Company of Tampa, Florida. Where she was renamed as the Intrepid.
In 1990, the Bay Transportation Company renamed the tug as the Broward.
In 1996, the Bay Transportation Company renamed the tug as the Paragon.
In 1998, the Bay Transportation Company was acquired by Hvide Marine Incorporated of Tampa, Florida. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2000, she was acquired by the SeaCoast Transportation Company of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2007, the SeaCoast Transportation Company was acquired by the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Where she retained her name.
In 2011, the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2018, the tug was acquired by the Curtin Maritime Company of Long Beach, California. Where she was renamed as the Kimberly C.
In 2022, she was acquired by Yak Timber Incorporated of Yakutat, Alaska. Where the tug retained her name.
Powered by two, twelve cylinder, EMD diesel engines. With Lufkin RHS 2120 reduction gears. She is a twin screw tug rated at 2,520 horsepower.
Her electrical services is provided by two, 75kW, Detroit 6-71, generator sets. The tug's capacities are 70,533 gallons of fuel, 1,500 gallons of lube oil, and 5,000 gallons of water.
The towing equipment consists of a double drum, Intercon DD-200, towing winch. Outfitted with 2,000(ft) of 2(in) towing wire on the port drum, and 2,000(ft) of 2(in) towing wire on the starboard drum.
