Built in 1981, by the Crumpler's Shipbuilding Company of Orange, Texas (hull #828) as the Pedernales for Rio Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1986, Rio Marine Incorporated became the Alamo Inland Marine Company of Houston, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1989, she was acquired by Dixie Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1998, the tug was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 2021, she was acquired by M and P Barge Company Incorporated of Plaquemine, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Donnie Verret.

Powered by three, GM 12V-71 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. She is a triple screw, square bow, push boat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.
