EMERALD KNOT

Built in 1982, by Gray Marine Builders of Yscloskey, Louisiana (hull #8) as the Emerald Knot for Knots Marine Incorporated of Schriever, Louisiana.

In 1998, the tug was acquired by Double Eagle Marine Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Fathom Eagle.

In 2008, she was acquried by the R and B Falcon Marine Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2001, the tug was acquired by the Delta Towing Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Delta Captain.

In 2004, she was acquired by Marine Express Incorporated of Walnut Creek, California. Where the retained her name.

In 2013, the tug sank in a storm thirteen miles off of Point Sur, California with no loss of life.

She was powered by two, Caterpillar C23 diesel engines. Turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. For a rated 2,000 horsepower.

The tug's towing equipment consisted of a Hydraulic, towing winch. Outfitted with 1,400 Feet 1.5(in) towing wire.
