Built in 1964 by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana as the E.A. Cenac for the Cenac Towing Company Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by P and L Towing and Transportation Incorporated of Miami, Florida. Where the tug was renamed as the Hercules.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA 19 M3 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG-521 reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.00:1. Turning two, 56(in) by 46(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,600 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW, 110/220V, three phase, keel cooled, Perkins generator sets.
