Built in 1975, by Halter Marine Services Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana (hull #473) as the Peggy Sheridan for the Sheridan Towing Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A subsidiary of Ira S. Bushey and Sons of Brooklyn, New York.

In 1977, the Red Star Towing Company was acquired by the Hess Oil Corporation of New York, New York. To form the Spentonbush-Red Star Companies of Brooklyn, New York. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1989, the Spentonbush-Red Star Companies were acquired the Amerada Hess Oil Corporation of New York, New York. Establishing the Amerada Hess Oil Corporation's marine division.

In 2001, the Hess Oil Corporation's fleet was acquired by Leevac Marine Incorporated of Jennings, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Brooklyn Service.

In 2002, Leevac Marine Incorporated merged with Hornbeck Offshore Services of Covington, Louisiana. The two companies formed Hornbeck Offshore Transportation Services of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2009, she was phased out of active service. And, the tug was "laid up" at New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2013, she was acquired by the Apex Oil Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Where she was renamed as the Brooklyn.

In 2013, Harley Marine Services Incorporated of Seattle, Washington. Was contracted to manage, crew, and operate the vessel.

In 2017, the Poling-Cutler Marine Transportation Company of Freehold, New Jersey. Was contracted to manage, crew, and operate the vessel.

In 2019, she was phased out of active service, and was "laid up" at Staten Island, New York.

In 2023, the tug was acquired by Mar-K Towing Incorporated of Panama City, Florida. Where she was renamed as the Capt. Danny.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, EMD 16-645-E2 diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 3.89:1. Turning two, high efficiency, 115(in) by 90(in), four bladed, fixed pitch propellers. For a rated 3,900 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW generator sets. Driven by two, GM 6V-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 79,515 gallons of fuel.

Her gear consists of a single drum, towing winch. Equipped with 2,000(ft) of 2(in) diameter stainless steel towing wire. Driven by a single GM 6V-71 diesel engine.
