Founded in 1903, the McLean Contracting Company was founded by Colin McLean in repsonse to the abundance of work generated after the great Baltimore Fire. McLean took on additional railroad and marine work in Maryland, Virginia, and the Carolinas, until his death in 1916.
The company provides bridge construction capabilities, pier and bulkhead construction, as well as specialty and custom marine services and projects.
McLean assists several organizations and municipalities in creating artificial reef sites in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. The Company continues its work of building bridges, piers and bulkheads in the Mid-Atlantic region.
