Built in 2006, by Rodriguez Boat Builders Incorporated of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #247) as the Huey L. Cheramie for A.T. Cheramie Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana.
In 2007, the tug was acquired by the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Miss Callie Cate.
In 2023, the Marquette Transportation Company renamed the tug as the Miss Ellie Cate.
Powered by three, Cummins KTA-38 M2 diesel engines. With Twin Disc 5225 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. Turning three, 79(in) by 79(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in in kort nozzles. She is a triple screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 60kW, Cummins 6-B generator sets. The tug's capacities are 60,000 gallons of fuel, 220 gallons of lube, and 10,000 gallons of potable water.
The towing equipment consists of a Clyde 150, double drum, waterfall towing winch. Outfitted with 2,400(ft) of 1.75(in) towing wire.
