
Built in 2003, by Rodriguez Boat Builders Incorporated of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #231) as the Niz C. Gisclair for A.T. Cheramie Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana.
In 2007, the tug was acquired by the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Miss Niz.
In 2023, the Marquette Transportation Company renamed the tug as the Brandon John.
Powered by three, Cummins KTA 19 M4 diesel engines. With ZF 3850 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. Turning 72(in) by 76(in), stainless steel propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a triple screw tug, rated at 3,600 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW, Cummins generator sets. The tug's capacities are 40,000 gallons of fuel, 220 gallons of lube oil, and 10,000 gallons of potable water.
The towing equipment consists of a INTERcon 125, double drum, waterfall towing winch. Outfitted with 2,000(ft) of 1.5(in) towing wire.
