Built in 1971, by St. Louis Ship Incorporated of St. Louis, Missouri (hull #2840) as the Marie Hendricks for the Wisconsin Barge Line Incorporated of St. Louis, Missouri.

In 1979, the Wisconsin Barge Line Incorporated renamed the tug as the Indian Gold.

In 1980, she was acquired by the Greenville Transportation Company of Greenville, Mississippi. Where the tug was renamed as the Sally Kirk.

In 1983, the tug was acquired by SCF Transportation Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi. Where she was renamed as the Aaron G.

In 1994, she was leased to Inland River Towing Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1996, the tug was acquired by the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the G. Marie Hendrick.

Originally powered by two, EMD 20-645F7C Diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, for a rated 7,200 horsepower. In 2007, she was re powered by with two, Tier III compliant EMD 16-710G7C-T3 diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.229:1. Turning two, Avdl, 114(in) by 113.75(in), fixed pitch, stainless steel propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at. 8,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, John Deer 6081, generator set. The tug's capacities are 110,998 gallons of fuel, and 1,243 gallons of lube oil.
