Built in 1984, by Jeffboat Incorporated of Jeffersonville, Indiana (hull #822522) as the Seminole Brave for the Florida Barge Lines Corporation of New Orleans, Louisiana. Although the unit was operated by the Canal Barge Company Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2000, the tug was acquired by the Alter Barge Line Incorporated of Wynne, Arkansas. Where the tug was renamed as the Jeffery G. And, was operated by the Lawson and Lawson Towing Company Incorporated of Wynne, Arkansas.

In 2011, she was acquired by the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, Tier III compliant, EMD-16-710-T3 diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.515:1. Turning two, 118(in) by 115(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 8,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, John Deere 6081 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 130,800 gallons of fuel, and 1,300 gallons of lube.
