Built in 1982, by National Shipbuilding Incorporated of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #107) as the Emily S. for Evelyn Berman of Berman Towing Enterprises Incorporated of Staten Island, New York.

In 1995, the tug was acquired by Weeks Marine Incorporated of Cranford, New Jersey. Where she was renamed as the Robert.

Powered by two, Tier II compliant, Caterpillar C32 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG-540 reduction gears, at a ratio of 7.0:1. Turning two, 79(in) by 76(in), four bladed, fixed pitch, stainless steel propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,800 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Tier II compliant, 58kW generator sets. Driven by two, Caterpillar C4.4 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 46,000 gallons of fuel, 200 gallons of lube oil, and 5,500 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of a single drum, INTERcon towing winch. Outfitted with 2,000(ft) of 1.5(in) towing wire. And a "suitcase" drum, outfitted with 1,500(ft) of 1.5(in) towing wire. Driven by a single GM 4-71 diesel engine.
