Built in 1981, by Balehi Marine Incorporated of Lacombe, Louisiana (hull #39) as the Pebble Beach for the Chotin Transportation Company of New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 1995, the tug was acquired by the Brent Towing Company of Greenville, Mississippi. Where she retained her name.

In 1998, she was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2018, the tug was acquired by River Marine Enterprises of Paducah, Kentucky. Where she was renamed as the General Ashburn.

Powered by two, GM 8-645E7B diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.292:1. She is a twin screw, towboat, rated at 3,000 horsepower.
