Built in 2018, by Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin (hull #784) as the Miss Houston for the Plains Towing Company of Venice, Louisiana.

In 2018, she was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Ronnie Murph.

Powered by two, twelve cylinder, GE 12V250MDC7 diesel engines. With Reintjes GMBH reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.091:1. Turning two, bronze, fixed pitch, propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 8,000 horsepower.

The tug's capacities are 158,767 gallons of fuel, 792 gallons of hydraulic oil, 5,019 gallons of lube oil, 20,077 gallons of water, and 82,157 gallons of ballast.

Outfitted with and INTERcon coupler system. She is "married" with the 521(ft), by 72(ft), by 41(ft), 155,000(bbl), double hulled barge. The Kirby 155-03 that was constructed simultaneously in 2018, by the Fincantieri Marine Group.
