Built in 1907, at Astoria, Oregon as the Rose.

The tug was later acquired by the Harbor Sand and Gravel Company of Aberdeen, Washington. Where she retained her name.

She was later acquired by Lloyd I. Frank of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1948, the tug was acquired by the Western Towboat Company of Seattle, Washington. Where she retained her name.

In 1950, she was sold. Where the tug retained her name.

On February 9th, 1951 the tug sank off the mouth of the Quillayute River on Washinton's Olympic Peninsula.

She was powered by a single, Union diesel engine, rated at 60 horsepower. She was later re powered with a single, GM 6-71 diesel engine for a rated 160 horsepower
