Built in 1978, by Glendale Boat Works Incorporated of Channelview, Texas as the Scott Palmer for Palmer Barge Line Incorporated Nederland, Texas.

In 1979, the tug sank on Tombigbee River in Alabama. She was raised, rebuilt, and acquired by Aquatic Towing Incorporated of Norco, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Gary Jr.

In 1990, she was acquired by Eckstein Marine Services of Jefferson, Louisiana. A division of the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Ross Salvaggio.

In 1996, the tug was acquired by Tabor Marine Service of Peoria, Illinois. Where she was renamed as Becky Ann.

In 2001, she was acquired by the American River Transportation Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Where the tug retained her name

In 1980, the tug was rebuilt by Bender Shipyard Incorporated of Mobile, Alabama. And in 2001, the tug was re powered with two Caterpillar 3412 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.
