POINT BARROW

Built in 1982, by Dakota Creek Industries of Anacortes, Washington (hull #16) as the Point Barrow for Crowley Marine Services Incorporated of San Francisco, California.

She was the third Point class tug constructed for Crowley Marine Services Incorporated.

In 2012, the tug was acquired by the Island Tug and Barge Company of Seattle, Washington. Where she was renamed as the Island Wind.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3512 V-12 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG 540 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.18:1. Turning two, four bladed, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,110 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Caterpillar 3304 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 60,000 gallons of fuel oil, 4,000 gallons of potable water, and 650 gallons lube oil.

The towing gear consists of a Smatco, single drum, towing winch. Outfitted with 1,900(ft) of 1.75(in) wire.
