Built in 1981, by Southwest Acadian Fabricators Incorporated of Lafayette, Louisiana (hull #PB-14-01) as the Miss Paula for Basin Towing Incorporated of Morgan City, Louisiana.
In 2010, the tug was acquired by Royal Marine Towing Incorporated of Arnaudville, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the River Royal.
In 2019, she was acquired by IntraTug (the Intracoastal Tug and Barge Company) of Maurice, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2021, IntraTug (the Intracoastal Tug and Barge Company) became part of the Intra Marine Group of Lafayette, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.
Powered by two, Caterpillar 3406 diesel engines. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 455 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW, Cummins generator sets. The tug's capacities are 6,000 gallons of fuel, 150 gallons of lube oil, 100 gallons of hydraulic oil, and 4,000 gallons of potable water.
