Built in 1966, by St. Charles Steel Works Incorporated of Thibodaux, Louisiana (hull #64) as the Capt. John Chappelle for an individual Michael Moody of Jacksonville, Florida.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by W3 Marine Incorporated of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Ocean Endeavor.

In 2020, she was acquired by the Michels Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Where the tug was renamed as the Ruth Lucille.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
