Built in 2015, by Intracoastal Iron Works Incorporated of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #166) as the Louise Cenac for the Cenac Towing Company Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana.

In 2019, the Cenac Towing Company was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Forked Island.

Powered by two, Cummins QSK38 M1 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.3:2. Turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 2,000 horsepower.
