She was the first Reliance/650 class Articulated Tug and Barge (ATB) constructed for Crowley Marine Services Incorporated.
Powered by two, Caterpillar 3612B DITA, electronically controlled, diesel engines. With Reintjes GMBH WAV4450 reduction gears. Turning two, 12(ft) diameter, controllable pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated 9,280 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 190kW Leroy Somer ARCB 446, generator sets. And, one auxiliary 190kW Leroy Somer ARCB 446, generator set. The tug's capacities are 142,389 gallons of fuel, 250 gallons of hydraulic oil, 3,170 gallons of lube oil, 94,837 gallons of ballast, and 13,208 gallons of water.
Fitted with an INTERcon coupler system, with 50(in) diameter pins. The tug is "married" with the 559(ft), by 40(ft), by 78(ft), 155,000(bbl) barge, the 650-1. Which was constructed simultaneously in 2006, by the VT Halter Marine Incorporated of Pascagoula, Mississippi (hull #1963) for Crowley Marine Services Incorporated.
