Built in 1907, by the Buffalo Drydock Company of Buffalo, New York (hull #209) as the Favorite for the Great Lakes Towing Company of Cleveland, Ohio.
In 1918, the tug was acquired by the United States Navy. Where she was designated as the SP-1385 (USS Favorite)
In 1920, she was transferred to the the United States Department of Interior, where the tug retained her designation.
In 1931, the tug was transferred to the Panama Canal Authority of Panama City, Panama. Where she retained her designation.
In 1940, she was returned to the United States Department of Interior. Where the tug retained her designation.
In 1941, the tug was transferred to the United States Navy. Where she was designated as the IX-45.
In 1943, she was transferred to the Panama Canal Mechanical Division of Panama City, Panama. Where the tug retained her designation.
In 1948, the tug was returned to the United States Navy and was struck from the Naval Register.
In 1948, she was acquired by the Peruvian Navy. Where the tug was designated as the BAP Guardian Rios.
In 1954, the tug was redesigned as the Rios.
In 1958, she was struck from the Peruvian Naval Register. Her current, and or final disposition is unknown.
