Built in 2008, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #425) as the Ted for the Harbor Docking and Towing Company of Lake Charles, Louisiana.

In 2019, the tug was chartered to the Suderman and Young Towing Company of Houston, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Lir.

In 2021, she was returned to the Harbor Docking and Towing Company of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Ted.

Powered by two, EMD 16-645 E7B diesel engines. With Rolls-Royce US255 z-drives, for a rated 6,140 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW, John Deere 6068T275 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 43,000 gallons of fuel, 1,800 gallons of lube oil, 1,800 gallons of hydraulic oil, and 10,800 gallons of potable water.

The towing gear consists of a 50 horsepower, Markey DYSF winch mounted on the bow.
